Occupational Therapy at MCC utilizes an experiential / sensorimotor approach to promote skills across all areas of performance. Services aim to help our students develop the skillset they need to achieve their full potential, including gross motor, fine motor, graphomotor, handwriting and typing, and self-care skills.
Occupational Therapists work hand in hand with the classroom teachers, speech and language pathologists and adapted physical education teachers to enhance the rate of skill acquisition. Sessions are provided both individually and in a group format and take place in our sensory gym, our fine motor area, the classrooms, and in the community.
At The Manhattan Childrens Center we believe that every child must have the
opportunity to become a functional member of their community
